Air Dryers vs. Paper Towels: Which is More Hygienic?

If washing your hands is a gesture of fundamental importance in everyday life, and today even more, drying them in the correct way is equally fundamental. It is known, in fact, that the transmission of bacteria is easier in the presence of damp skin but also and above all on terry towels in our bathrooms.

The new challenge begins just one second after closing the tap: drying. What is better to use, disposable towels or electric shower heads?

Many official studies show that paper is the best tool because it allows you to dry your hands more effectively, removing bacteria and avoiding contamination in the surrounding environment. From a hygienic point of view, in fact, paper towels are superior to electric shower heads since they do not disperse germs into the air. Their use is always recommended in every public place and not only in hospitals.

Another aspect to consider is the time factor. Electric dryers take about 45 seconds to dry your hands. An eternity if we consider that the average “patience” of women stands between 13 seconds and 17 seconds of waiting. On the contrary, a disposable towel allows 96% drying in just 12 seconds!
