Eco-Friendly Crafting: DIY Phone Holder with Toilet Paper or Paper Towel Tubes

In a world that thrives on technology and smartphones, it’s no surprise that we constantly find ourselves in need of a reliable phone holder. Whether you’re following a recipe in the kitchen, watching a video, or conducting a video call, having a convenient way to prop up your phone is essential. However, you don’t need to invest in expensive accessories, instead, you can create a simple and eco-friendly DIY phone holder using items you probably have lying around your home – toilet paper or paper towel tubes!

Upcycled Tubes: Transforming it into a Handy Phone Holder
What you need:

Empty toilet paper or paper towel tube
Scissors or craft knife
Ruler
Decorative paper, washi tape, or markers (optional)
Glue or double-sided tape (optional)
Step-by-Step Guide:

Ensure you have all the necessary materials on hand. If you’re using a paper towel tube, you may need to cut it down to a suitable size to accommodate your phone.

If your phone is smaller in size, you may not need to alter the tube’s dimensions. However, for larger phones, measure the width of your device against the tube. Mark the length you need to cut, allowing some extra space to ensure your phone fits comfortably. Use scissors or a craft knife to carefully cut along the marked line.

You can get creative with your DIY phone holder by adding some decorative touches. Consider covering the outside of the tube with decorative paper or washi tape to match your room’s aesthetics. Alternatively, you can use markers to draw unique designs or patterns on the tube.

Place your phone on the tube horizontally and find the center. Draw a vertical line on the tube, following the phone’s length. Next, make two parallel horizontal cuts along this line, leaving a gap of about 1/4 inch between them. Be sure not to cut all the way through the tube.

Gently press the middle section of the tube inwards, bending it along the cuts you made earlier. This will create a simple stand for your phone. Adjust the angle as needed to ensure your phone sits securely.

If you find that the stand is not stable enough, you can reinforce it with a small piece of cardboard or foam. Cut the material to the appropriate size and insert it inside the tube at the base of the stand. This will provide extra support and prevent your phone from tipping over.

Craft Your Own DIY Phone Holder from Repurposed Tubes

With a little creativity and resourcefulness, you can craft a practical and eco-friendly DIY phone holder using empty toilet paper or paper towel tubes. This simple yet effective solution not only serves its purpose but also helps reduce waste by upcycling materials that might otherwise end up in the trash.

Next time you finish a roll of Nicky Elite toilet paper or Nicky paper towel, don’t toss the tube away! Instead, repurpose it into a useful phone holder, adding a touch of personalization to match your style. Happy crafting!
